All site members can link their account on any SocialGO site to accounts on Facebook and Twitter. By linking your account, you will be able to log in to SocialGO and have the option to share your blogs through Facebook and Twitter. This is a great way of generating 'free' traffic to your site, as when content is shared by you or your members on your/their Facebook and Twitter accounts, Facebook friends and Twitter followers will click directly to your site should they click the link posted by your members.
How to do this:
1. In 'Account Settings' and you will see the Linked Accounts section. Choose one of the applications you want to connect to from the list and click the ‘Connect using…’ link.
2. After pressing the link you will be asked by Twitter or Facebook to authorize SocialGO to use your account. Here you enter in your username and password (for each external site) and it connects your SocialGO account to Twitter or Facebook.
When adding a new blog post the ‘Share on’ option will be lit for the application(s) you have connected to. (If you have not connected to either Facebook or Twitter, these buttons will be greyed out). If you want to share your blog, click the application name and a tick will appear beside it. In the example screen shot below the blog post is going to be shared through Facebook.
Administrators and Moderators of the site can view users with Linked Accounts within 'Manage' > 'Members'.
Can you opt out of linking your account with Facebook or Twitter?
Yes. You can disable this in 'Account Settings'. Just click 'Disconnect' by the application you want to remove.
