Box.net is an online file sharing site that lets you manage and share files online. It also lets you give permissions to certain people to upload their files into the same folder so you can share documents or files between users. You could share word documents, PDF files, pictures, music, videos. etc.
It is possible to embed your folders or files into your SocialGO site, by using their embed code. This could be great if you want visitors to be able to download files straight from your site!
There is a free account you can sign up for, this gives you 5MB storage but has limited options on privacy settings and the amount of users. See their plans for more information here: http://box.net/pricing/
To get started with box, sign up, log in and you will be taken to your 'files'. Here you can 'Upload' files, you are able to upload any type of file you want.
When you have uploaded files, you can put them into Folders, if you wish to do this, click on 'New' and 'New Folder'
To put files into the folder you have just created, hold down the file you want to place in it and drag onto the folder.
Embedding the file or folder widgets on your site
To embed a file, click on the small drop down blue arrow, go to 'Share' and 'Embed File In Your Site'
If you would like to embed a folder, go to the small blue arrow again, drop down to 'Share', and 'Embed Folder in Your Site'
Copy the code from either and paste into a Custom HTML widget in your Site Builder.
In the image below is an example of a PDF file that is embedded. Box has a feature called 'Integrated File View' which displays files in the embedded box, so you can read the PDF from the widget on your site. Integrated file view also supports Word documents, Excel, Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML, Spreadsheet documents and more!
Below the PDF widget is the folder that I also embedded, this widget shows all your files in a gallery display.
Visitors to your site will be able to click on the files, and have the option to download.
