A Favicon is the little icon at the side of the URL in the bar on your browser. Once you have the color scheme and cover image decided, it should be easy to come up with a matching Favicon.
Please note that this customisation requires Code Injection, which is not available on our Starter plan.
Create a Favicon: This needs to be 16x16 pixels in size, and you can save it as a GIF, PNG or JPEG file (see this chart for which browsers accept which format). You will then need to upload it to an image hosting service such as www.tinypic.com or www.photobucket.com. You can also use Dropbox to store your favicon.
Here is our example Favicon below:
Add the Favicon to your code: When you have the hyperlink for your Favicon ready, you need to copy & paste this URL into the following piece of code:
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="YOURFULLIMAGEURLGOESHERE" type="image/x-icon" />
Copy this entire code snippet and go into your site builder. Under 'Setup' and 'Code Injection', paste it into the box named 'Global Header Code' and click 'Save Changes'.
Once you’ve saved the code, the Favicon will appear in the URL bar next to your site’s address. If it doesn’t show up straight away, try restarting your browser and/or reloading your site. Ta da!
